April Updates
>> 25 Apr 2010
It's been a busy two months! Only just had a moment to stop and write some updates. Lots of news so apologies for the incoming wall of text...
Although I'm a few days behind, the challenge has been going well, my style has been shifting and becoming much more minimalistic which has allowed me to create the illustrations more quickly. Although it has been proving difficult to keep up with the Daily Doodling and keep the ideas fresh, especially in between long days in the studio... I've been close to losing my sanity and I'm only 100 days in! I'd like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far and for all the kind words of encouragement I've been receiving. Honestly, I can't thank everyone enough. All the support has really helped keep it all going when I've been close to giving up.
The Daily Doodle shop has been moving along nicely, I've nearly sold out of a few of the prints and I'm just awaiting a big order from the printers containing lots of new print designs to be added to the store. By next week I should have about 20 new pieces to add to the shop.
Over this past few months I've been developing a few of the doodles into full colour digital art pieces to be sold as stock illustrations, canvas art and to be entered into competitions. This month, I've entered one of them into the Boomtique t-shirt design competition and I'm already ranked 3rd! You can show some love by voting for it here: http://www.boomtique.com/pages/vote#tee-12
I'm also using some of the doodles as the basis for some royalty free stock illustrations which I'll be selling through Fotolia.com and my design studio, Creative Elements. Click here to view the full colour doodles in the Creative Elements stock image bank.
As mentioned earlier this month on Twitter, I'm currently working with the online gallery, Art for Urban Spaces to create a series of limited edition full colour canvas prints from the Doodles. The first of the series can be seen here: http://www.artforurbanspaces.com/beautiful-way-stina-canvas-print.html I'll be adding more to the Gallery over the next few months, to find out first about the new canvas prints, you can follow the gallery on Twitter @art4urbanspaces
As the aim of this project is to raise money for the charity Shelter, I'd greatly appreciate if everyone could show their support by sponsoring me on this creative marathon. The project is being followed by around 500 people and if each one donated just £2, we'd raise £1,000 for the homeless! How cool would that be? You can sponsor me via my JustGiving fundraising page here http://www.justgiving.com/DailyDoodle2010
